Christmas proclaims God's everlasting unfailing love

"For unto us a child is born , unto us a son is given : and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor , The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6

Christmas is the holiday of hope. No matter what you are going through. Jesus the Son of God made a way for you and me to be victorious.

Whenever I think of Christmas, Jeremiah 31:3-4 leaps within my spirit: “Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. Again I will build thee, and thou shalt be built....”

Meditate on God's love.

Be strong in the Lord

Reading Matthew 26:31-56

Are you disappointed in yourself for failing to fulfill your commitment to our Lord or even to a friend? It happens to most of us.

Without being strong in the Lord our plans are in vain. Look at Peter. He really wanted to stand with the Lord, but he was not prepared spiritually. He was depending on his own ability.
But the battle starts in the spirit realm. If we are not dressed for it in the Spirit and in the Word we cannot win. So when Jesus told Peter to put up his sword and not resist with his physical power, Peter was confused. He even ended up denying the Lord three within a span of hours!
We can only be strong in the Lord by following Jesus’ call in Matthew 26:41, “Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."

Paul gives us very good advice on how to be prepared. Eph. 6:10-18

I fix my mind on Your Word

Loving Father, Your Word shall not depart from my mouth; I will meditate on it day and night and follow your principles so that I may be prosperous and have good success.
I am not anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, I present my requests to You, Father. And Your peace which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and my mind in Christ Jesus.

Joshua 1:8
Philippians 4:6-8

I submit myself to the Word of God

Holy spirit, thank You for encouraging me to abide in the Word of God as I submit myself to You. "For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."

For though I live in the world, I do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of my warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
I am transformed by the renewing of my mind that I may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Abide in God's Word and you will continue in His will

Psalms 119:11, "Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You!" This is the foundation of obedience and walking in faith.

We can stay in the God's will by studying, meditating on and doing the Word of God.
Mark 14:38 "Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak." Here Jesus Himself warns us against depending on our thinking and will. We need to be watchful otherwise we may enter into temptation.
This implies that temptation is not accidental. It starts in thought and then planned. Let me give you an example: when driving to a particular destination, you move from one street to enter another. You plan your movements trying to avoid trafic, etc. Temptation can be avoided by watching our thoughts through staying in the Word and in prayer.

Temptation or sin is conceived (Jas. 1:14-15) and therefore its conception can be avoided. It is easier to avoid being tempted by being in constant communion with God, than it is to overcome temptation. Practicing the presence of God thoughout the day keeps us in fellowship with our loving Father, meditating on His Word and therefore, our thoughts are not easily succumbed to temptation.

If it be Thy will Lord

Have you ever prayed "Lord, if it is Your will"? I have found myself doing just that a few times. However, one of the vital principles of answered prayer is to believe that we receive when we pray (Mk. 11:24).
How can we fulfill that condition if we don't know God's will in the situation? Praying, "if it is Your will" removes us from the active position of believing and puts us in the passive position of waiting thus letting circumstances rule our lives. When we pray, we should say and believe the promises of God which are 'YES and AMEN' Jesus said that if we pray and believe what we have prayed we will have what we ask.

The only suitable time to pray, "If it be thy will" is when we are dedicating ourselves to the service of God. We are instructed, whenever we lack wisdom to ask our loving Father. James 1:5, “If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.”

Ephesians 5:17-18 “Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.” This scripture invites us to let the Holy Spirit be our mentor.

Walking in the will of God

Galatians 5:16 “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.”
A sure way to stay in the will of God is by walking in the spirit. Walking in the spirit is away of thinking that lines up with the Word. Walking in the flesh is also a way of thinking that doesn’t agree or align with the Word of God. Chech your thinking: Does it line up with the Word of God? Can you walk in the spirit without knowing the Word of God? Will power may take you for a little while but it will not sustain you. Remember, holiness is being of one mind with God and this will be achieved through walking in the Word by the Holy Spirit.

Decide to walk in spirit today. “I am not going to change the Word of God. I am going to allow the Word to change me
God says in Deuteronomy 30:19 "I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:"
John 6:63 Jesus said, “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”

Be filled with God's Word.

Are you hungry for God's will? Be filled with God's Word.
1 John 2:17 tells us, “And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” How can we know the will of God?
We must study the Word of God, as it reveals His will for our purpose, actions and attitudes. To be filled with the knowledge of God's will, we must be filled with His Word. God's Word is His will! Lack of knowledge of God's Word spells ignorance of His will and that is a disaster for any Christian.

Learn from the Master, our Lord Jesus Christ. Luke 2:52, "And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.” Jesus knew God’s Word. He operated in God’s Word. Not even once did He give in to the lust and temptation. He spoke and lived the Word of God. He was in the world but the world was not in Him. He was in the will of God.

There is no way we can fulfill God's will if we don't know what it is. Do you have a desire for God's will? Jeremiah 29:13 says, "And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart." Seeking the Lord with all your heart is studying and abiding in His Word.

Living victoriously

A Christian life without the power of God is impossible. Think about it; there is no such thing as victorious Christian living without a constant dependence upon the Spirit of God. In order to be successful we have to depend on the Holy Spirit moment by moment, hour by hour, day by day.

Jesus never gives us an assignment without anointing us with the power of the Holy Spirit. In Matthew 28 Jesus gives us the great commission but He does not send us helpless.

In Acts 1 Jesus says, "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."

He says in John 14:26, "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you"

Jesus is the best teacher that ever lived, yet His disciples had very little understanding because they were not born again. But when they received the Holy Spirit, He lead them into all truth and even showed them things to come. John 16:7

Jesus instructs us to receive the Holy Spirit because He knows we need Him to live the life He called us to live. Therefore my dear sister/brother, remember to surrender and submit to the Holy Spirit. Be diligent in your daily living as you let Him be your mentor.

What is your vision?

Success begins with a vision. God's Word says in Proverbs 29:18 "Where there is no vision, the people perish...."
When you read the Bible you find God's written goals. He wrote down what He wanted to happen and He wants us to do the same. It is crucial that we study and abide in His Word because the Holy Spirit reveals our purpose to us through God's Word. Check out what the Word says in Habakkuk 2:2 "Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it."
I got a wild revalation from this scripture 'if I write my vision down then the right people or person God wants to share my vision will be able to see it and participate.'

Our success is in Jesus

Many of us find ourselves in the same conflict as Peter, though confident of ourselves yet doing the opposite. In Matthew 26:33 "Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended." However, the same night, he denied Jesus three times, how distressed he must have been!

Don’t be devastated when you fail in some area that you thought you are strong. Though your spirit became new, your mortal body needs continual saving through the renewing of your mind and doing the Word. You are always faced with the battle against the works of the flesh. Yes you should be concerned when you fail but remember what Paul said in Romans 7:18 "in my flesh dwelleth no good thing," Any good thing starts in your spirit and gets into your flesh through the renewing of your mind.

Our loving Father is faithful, just get back into the spirit through confession and forgiveness of self and of others, and through the Word renew your mind. Don’t dwell on the failure dwell on the love of our Lord who forgave us and continues to forgive us.

In spite of Peter’ failure, the Lord used him mightily. But Peter knew that the glory belonged to the Lord.
Always remember in Him we have the Holy Spirit our mentor and He always leads us into triumph. God’s grace abounds more than our sin.

Do you want to live a successful Christian Life?

Success in the Christian's life depends on the renewing of your mind.
Galatians 5:16 "Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh." In order to be delivered and set free from the lust of the flesh, you have to walk in the Spirit.

John 6:63 The Spirit gives life the flesh has nothing, no profit, no benefit. The Word in the Bible is spirit

Renew your mind

Romans 12:2 "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."

Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

Our faith grows as we grow in the Word of God. And I have learnt that victory springs from the renewing of our minds. Think about it; How will you hear the voice of the Holy Spirit without renewing your mind? Can you genuinely speak to the mountain without a renewed mind?

I was wondefully made

Psalms 139:14
"I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well."

Fear

God gave us a survival instinct which the world calls fear. But wait a minute, does this definition doesn’t line up with the Word of God?
God commanded us to fear Him and Him only. The revelation I got today was this: fear is reverence and anything or anybody you fear takes God’s place.
• You either fear God or something else.
• What you fear is what you reverence
• What you fear is what you idolize
• What you fear really becomes your god.

This is why God, repeatedly advises us not to fear.
Isa 44:8, "Do not fear, nor be afraid; Have I not told you from that time, and declared it? You are My witnesses. Is there a God besides Me? Indeed there is no other Rock; I know not one."
Deut.1:21, 20:3-4, 2Chron. 20:17, Isaiah 41:10, 13, 43:1, 5, 44:

Isaiah 11:3-4
“His delight is in the fear of the Lord, And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, Nor decide by the hearing of His ears; But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, And decide with equity for the meek of the earth”.
This type of fear gives God His place. It is waking by faith having confidence in God and His Word. Doing His will regardless of what it looks like or feels like.
Jer 2:18, 3:8

This is Jesus’ advice from Matthew 10:28, "8 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."

Faith gives substance to your hope

Mark 5:25-29: The woman with the issue of blood had suffered for twelve years and had spent all she had on many doctors without getting better. In fact she grew worse. When she had heard of Jesus, she came in the press behind, and touched Jesus’ garment, “for she said, ‘If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.’ And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague

Many times we look at the mountains facing us and we speak about them instead of speaking to them. God’s Word is greater than any mountain. God’s Word is His promise to you that He wants you to prosper, spirit, soul and body. Our Lord said that you can have what you say if you have faith. So before you speak, remember that the words you speak frame your daily life. Speak the Word of God in faith.

Faith gives substance to the promises of God. Faith creates.

Speaking God's Word in faith brings the Holy Spirit into action.

Circumstances and situations are always speaking to us. Our victory over them is to answer them with a statement of faith. Is your body telling you that your prayer didn't work or that the Lord didn't heal you? Whatever you are going through, answer with a positive statement of faith. 1 John 5:4

You may be wondering why we answer non-speaking things or even inanimate objects! In Mark 11:14 Jesus demonstrates that this tree was communicating with Him.
"And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it." Let’s follow His example and answer them with authority and not with fear.
Prov. 18:21 says that your words will release either life or death. All creation (including people) responds to words because that’s how God made it.

Speaking God's Word in faith brings the Holy Spirit into action. In Luke 4, when Jesus was tempted by the devil, Jesus used the Word of God to defeat the enemy at His temptation.
Keep God's Word in your heart (Proverbs 4:20-23) so that the Holy Spirit may bring it forth at the appropriate time.

Speak God's Word in faith to that mountain in your life. Mark 11:22-23

The power of words

The words you speak will either make you or break you. Wrong thinking leads to wrong speaking and wrong speaking leads to wrong actions. These three deter the manifestation of God’s good plans and promises for our lives.

God used words to create the world. Jesus was conceived by the Word and His ministry was founded on the Word.
1 Peter 1:23 tells us that the Word of God is the incorruptible seed which never fails. In Hebrews 1:3 we learn that Jesus upholds all things by the word of His power.
Child of God, you have the same creative power as God. In fact you always have what you say. Your words and actions have created who you are today. Many of us don’t realize this, that is why we continue speaking contrary to God’s will. Jesus warned us against idle talk. But how can we protect ourselves from careless words?
Simple, renew your mind with the Word of God daily. Meditate on it day and night. Give the Spirit of Truth first place in your life and the Word of God will permeate your whole being.

Speak what you want

Though I found it easy to make the decision to change what I say, implementing it has been another matter. I have tried it for the past few days in vain! How do I do this?

I recall what Jesus said in John 15:4-5 "Abide in me and I in you. As......for without me you can do nothing." He also gave us the Helper, the Spirit of truth Who teaches us all things and leads us into all truth. Listening and doing what He teaches is the answer to all our problems.

"As a man thinks within, so is he!" (Proverbs 23:7) So without changing my way of thinking I am getting no where in my resolution. I have to change how I think by renewing my mind.

I have therefore decided to spend time reading the Word of God daily, meditating on it continually, listening to the Holy Spirit all the time and doing what the Word says.

If you been through the same struggle please share with us or check this blog tomorrow and be blessed.

Say what you want not what you feel

The Holy Spirit, my Mentor has been dealing with me concerning my tongue. My resolution for 2009 is to speak the blessing of God over my life and my loved ones regardless of the circumstances.
The Word of God is full of His promises and tells us His will for our lives. His plans for us are good. But how can we appropriate them? There are several things we have to do and one of them is guarding our tongues.

Charles Capps says in God’s creative Power: “Life and death are in the power of your tongue. Plant a crop for what you want not what you don’t want.” Page 130

Proverbs 18:20-21 says:
A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled .
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof
.” KJV

The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.” KJV
When we speak contrary to God’s will for our lives, we speak like the wicked and we partake of his reward.

The lips of the righteous nourish many.” (Proverbs 10:21)
May your words bless you and build your loved ones!

I wish you all a prosperous, fruitful and joyous 2009. I pray for the blessings of God to fill you, surround you and overtake you!
