The power of the tongue

Do you know that the Word of God in your mouth creates? And the opposite is true. The words of the devil or unbelief lead to destruction and death.
Proverbs 18:20-21 "A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled .
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

What are you speaking? Speak the Word of God and His will and you create life and healing.

I can do all through Christ

Do you ever find yourself discouraged after starting something which is very important to you? It has happened to me many times but you know what? The Holy Spirit always reminds me of Philippians 4:13 which says that I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me. Meditating on this scripture energizes me.

“Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.” 2 Corinthians 2:14 NKJ

Prayer and the Word

We know there is power in the Word of God. But do you realize that for it to be effective it has to be spoken and applied? The spoken Word of God opens closed doors. It creates health and healing. It is the way we communicate with God and the right way to speak to and about ourselves. Jesus said in John 13:17 “If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.” Our empowerment to resist temptation, our ability to walk in faith comes from studying, meditating and doing the Word

Blessed are you if you do them

John 13:17 “If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.”

What is Jesus teaching us here? Blessed means empowered, so we are admonished to do what Jesus teaches so that we may be empowered to prosper in whatever He has taught us. But then why aren't most believers not prospering?

One of the most popular scriptures in the Bible is John 8:32 “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” But do you realize that most of us take it out of context? Jesus started addressing the believers from John 8:31 and continued on to verse 32. So it will be clearer for us if we use both verses together.
Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

How do these two scriptures compare John 13:17 and John 8:31-32? Now listen to James 1:25 “But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

Our empowerment, ability to walk in faith and enjoy the blessing comes from abiding and doing the Word. You are going to encounter a lot of arguments against this but always refer to what our Lord says and does. Knowing the truth without continuing in it will not set you free. If you want to walk in the blessing you must continue in the truth; hearing it, meditating it and doing it.
